PwC Capital Markets Flash Q1-2013: Seeking a “good news” story…

I don’t usually flag my corporate work on my portfolio–at least partly because half the time, the NDA I have to sign before beginning the project is as hefty as the project–but PricewaterhouseCoopers is kindly allowing me to be public about this particular project and I’m so happy to be able to highlight it here. Because I’m a–sad truth–deal junkie. And so when PwC came to me in the early spring of 2013, and asked if I would collaborate with them on the Canadian deal team’s product, the Capital Markets Flash, well, it was a no-brainer. Of course I said yes.

It wasn’t a great debut quarter, for a business writer forged in the heady days of 2005, 2006, 2007… But, we spun a great story. Key headlines:

Real estate on fire
Canadian pension funds shop the world
The media game continues
Natural resources on ice
Troubling trends in inbound, some improvements in outbound m&a

and, for good measure, we added an analysis of the Canadian content of PwC’s Global CEO Survey.

Featuring PricewaterhouseCoopers Canadian Deals team leader Nicolas Marcoux, and PwC partners Julian Brown, Eric Le May, Richard Pay, Don Fitzpatrick, Ken Goodwin, Clinton Roberts

and not quite random “best of public record” quotes from:
