I’m terrible at crafting headlines. That’s why I love editors. Mission: Recovery was a pretty excellent tag for my hastily pulled together story on Husky Energy and its elusive–but fascinating–CEO Asim Ghosh, published in Canadian Business magazine’s I500 issue (May 10, 2013).
The quote that says it all:
“They’re almost a stealth improving company,” says Phil Skolnick, an analyst with Canaccord Genuity in New York. “A lot of investors and analysts, we all kind of missed the trade that happened on the stock last year. Everyone was used to the old Husky always disappointing.”
Names dropped: Asim Ghosh, CEO of Husky Energy, John Lau, former CEO of Husky Energy, Li Ka-shing, LF Management and Investments, Hutchinson Whampoa Luxembourg Holdings, Vodafone India, AS Watson, John Myers, Husky’s senior vice-president of oil sands, Rob Symonds, Husky’s senior vice-president of Western Canada productions, Dennis da Silva of Middlefield Capital, Kathleen Lucas Minyard of JPMorgan, Goldman Sachs, and, as per quote above, Canaccord Genuity’s Phil Skolnick.
